Global EcoPower received its first final authorization for the construction of two agricultural greenhouses with photovoltaic roof for a total installed capacity of 1.89 MWp, located in Salon-de-Provence in France.
This project involves the renovation of existing greenhouses representing an area of 15,000 m2 on a site with excellent solar radiation for an annual production of 2 450 MWh, integrating all losses and resulting in a performance ratio of approximately 80% (excluding orientation losses).
The greenhouses roofs will be partially covered with more than 6000 modules of dual-glass crystalline silicon type. The technical choice is not to cover the entire roof and to allow a pass light for a sustainable use of soil by the farmer.
Global EcoPower expects a construction start up in the fourth quarter of 2010 and commissioning early 2011. A 112 m² pilot unit, previously manufactured in Holland, is getting installed on the site. This unit will be used as a showcase for the other achievements of the group.
The different stages of project development covering all environmental, legal and technical aspects were entirely conducted by Global EcoPower.
