Axio announced today that it will develop a 2 megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic facility on a closed municipal landfill in the Town of Greenfield, Massachusetts. Axio has executed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Town of Greenfield for the supply of solar energy from the Greenfield Solar Farm at a low, fixed price of power over 30 years, as well as a long-term lease on the closed landfill site. The contracts were executed today at a meeting attended by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, Greenfield Mayor William Martin, as well as various other officials and members of the public.
