The solar power station covers 17 hectares (approx. 24 soccer pitches) and will in future provide clean electrical energy for around 1,300 households. The astronomically controlled dual-axis tracking systems generate up to 45% more output than fixed installations. In addition, sonnen_systeme solar tracking systems are among the safest on the market. Their high-quality design and extensive control and monitoring system ensure precision and long-term fault-free functionality. The partner and project engineer is Kirchner Solar Group GmbH, which will produce 3.9 million kilowatt-hours of electricity with the solar park. Construction of the solar park was efficient in terms of both time and cost: an innovative method of laying the foundations enables more cost-effective installation of the tracking systems than previous methods. Compared with the rest of Germany, the state of Saxony has been relatively slow to embrace renewable energy production. However, the successful construction of the solar park in Grimma represents a major milestone and has paved the way for many more projects. Jochen Marg, Head of Sales at sonnen_systeme Projektgesellschaft, points out: “Our tracking systems are already generating electricity on four continents. Even so, we are delighted whenever another region recognizes the importance of renewable energies for the future and actively promotes the supply of solar power.” |
